After helping rogue Dhampir Rose Hathaway evade justice, Sydney Sage's situation with the Alchemists is shaky at best. Her career is jeopardized to the point where she may have to undergo re-education. Woken in the middle of the night, Sydney is given a last chance: to pose as the older sister of Jill Dragomir (illegitimate sister of the Queen Vasilisa) at a boarding school in Palm Springs California and assist Keith the alchemist whom she hates and also studied with Sydney's father to conceal her identity to those who oppose the queen. This is because of the family quorum law which means that if Jill were to die Vasilisa would have no family left and would have to abdicate the throne. This is all set in motion due to an attack on Jill which was violent and brutal. Sydney, Jill, Eddie Castile (dhampir), and Adrian head off to Palm Springs. - Wiki

Overall Thoughts
After my thorough review of the Vampire Academy series, I am back with another book review by the same author, Richelle Mead. Bloodlines is a spin off of Vampire Academy so I would recommend reading those books before you jump into this series. In all honesty, I found Bloodlines to be far more interesting than Vampire Academy. The main character, Sydney, is nothing like Rose Hathaway, but I enjoyed that shift in perspectives. There was never a moment while reading this book where I felt bored. Events took place in a nicely manner within a respectable time frame. There was a dash of romance in this novel, but it wasn't the main focus. I feel some love triangles starting to form and I'm a little nervous about that. Last time I read about a love triangle it didn't end well *cough Adrian, Rose, and Dimtiri cough*. So many things happened in this book so I don't want to give away too much information. It's best to go into this one knowing as little as possible, just as it is for every book out there. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

I think I might do my future reviews like this, without spoilers. But if you are interested in my spoilery(??) thoughts, I'll more than likely express them on my social sites, especially Goodreads.

Thank you for reading.
